First Step Award

I have been awarded the First Step Award of the University of Glasgow Innovation Network to develop a knowledge transfer project within the prestigious architectural practice PAGE\PARK.

This research is entitled DIDECU (“Digital Design Curation”) and will focus on the curation of digital assets held in architectural practices.

EuroMed 2010 full paper presentation

On 13th of November, at EuroMed 2010 Digital Heritage Conference, I will present the research I have developed for the DAF project. My paper is entitled “The DAF DDI profile, a metadata set to address Digital Curation and Preservation issues in Cultural Heritage institutions”.

EuroMed 2010 Papers Proceedings are published under The Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) by SPRINGER Verlag in Germany and are currently on-line at this link.

DCC funded digital curation internship

From the 16th of November I have been awarded an internship funded by the Digital Curation Centre to be spent at  HATII (Humanities Advanced Technology and Information Institute) in the Glasgow University.

In that position, my research will be focused on the curation of digital assets concerning the cultural heritage and especially built heritage. As first activity, I will be responsible, in the DAF (Data Asset Framework) project, for the development of a new DDI profile conflating in a light set descriptors from PREMIS and DCMI, further, I will design a web tool to ease the creation of the XML files gathering the descriptions adopting this original metadata set.

New Website for BOBCATSSS2010

I have recently scripted and designed the new website of the BOBCATSSS conference for the University of Parma. BOBCATSSS is an annual symposium organised by students at a number of universities in Europe. It takes place under the auspices of EUCLID (European Association for Library and Information Education and Research) and deals with themes from library and information science. Every year it is organized, managed and provided with content by students from an Eastern and Western European university.

In order to allow the organisers to get the site updated and rich in contents I realised the website using the WordPress’ Loop with a brand new “fixed-width” theme I scripted and designed just for this event!

Have a look of it at http://bobcatsss2010.unipr.it!
